The Walk
Day 33
COLLECTOR to EAGLEHAWK HILL

Barry (Engines) and Cathy Davis

A good day for walking. Congratulations to Slug and Jock for putting in a hard, long day. It was good to see Possum and Dale re-
instated to rear safety vehicle.

Richard (Slug) Lewin
What a day to walk. Did the first 27Km. Congratulations to Jock, his first all day walk, 42Km. The best of anyone on the trip. Di, see you
soon. Love to you and the family.

Raymond (Jock) Copeland
Finished the day with a personal best,42Km. On arrival at Eaglehawk, had a nice hot shower and some voltarin for the aches and
pains. Walked with Barry Mckeown for a few K’s. Walked with Liz Taber, a very personable lowlands Scots Lassie. Lots of reminiscing.
An eventful day. One more sleep. Miss Jenny and Chloe.

We all enjoyed our stay at the bushranger Hotel where we caught up with Kim, David, Christopher, Mickayla and Samuel and niece
Lisa with son Drew.  Alan Harris also arrived for today’s walk.  Stuart arrives tonight for the big day.  Kim got us all organized and we
left on time.  The weather was a bit a dismal to start but the sun shone through later in the day.  I drove the van again so as to test my
foot for the big day.  The grandchildren walked for “Poppy”.  Bob’s (Tug’s) walk comes to its conclusion at midday tomorrow.  This has
been a great adventure for me, Kim and Stuart and families.  I cannot thank all of you enough for the support and encouragement
along the way.  To the permanent walkers thank you and I hope you haven’t worn yourselves out.  Also we have raised well above the
amount that Bob ever envisaged “For Kids With Cancer”.

Although  only one day out of Canberra and 33days from the beginning, the true road show started today. The story is in the
photographs. Read it as you will. I hope you have enjoyed the pictorial history of the walk and if there are any photos you would like, full
size, please leave details with me at the dinner.

Tomorrow there will only be photographs and no more reports from your intrepid walking crew.
