The Walk
Day 32
GOULBURN TO COLLECTOR

NanaTorpedo
We were joined by Ian and Liz Taber and Kevin Piechowski.  We got away on time and the first two legs were in misty conditions.  I took
up the rear all day in the bus as I have done something to my left foot, so will rest it up so as I can walk into Canberra on Friday.  After
lunch we uplifted and resumed walking for the last 7 ½ km.  We arrived at the Bushranger Hotel in Collector, which is an old original
hotel.  Very nice.  Cannot believe we only have 1 ½ days to go.

Craig ‘Feathers’ Fothergill
These Submariners are really starting to stick it up me the closer we get to Canberra, so if anyone wants a few photos that were
previously censored please let me know ie. the boys at the urinal, hiding behind trees, fouling the ANF and Ensign, and I also have a
few tales to tell about ‘Slug’, ‘Jock’, ‘Engines’, ‘Pete’, ‘Nana’ and as for ‘Possum and Dale’ well enough said, and better left alone.

Barry ‘Engines’ and Cathy Davis
Who’d have thunk it?  Walk most of the day in misty? conditions.  Police car went by and a RTA guy gave the girls a road report plus
$10 and wished us luck.  Pete Sellars, once again in the bad books.  Mr Twice, grounded the ANF twice, hit others in the face with the
ANF twice and impaled ANF on Ensign twice.  Feathers spent most of the day taking potty photos and Jock stole the best bunk.  A good
day.

Richard ‘Slug’ Lewin
Great to be back on the road again.  23km today, 10 to go to reach 600km.  Feathers has finally learnt how electricity works.  Both kettle
and computer worked this morning.  Love to Di and my family.

Raymond ‘Jock’ Copeland
Great day for walking, lots of mist and we had to pick up for 13km.  Ian Taber made a valiant 11 km. Two sleeps!

Rod and ‘Hyacinth Letitia Bouquet’ Gould
Looking forward to the next couple of days as we near Canberra. The temperature is steadily dropping and the wind doesn’t help.
Hyacinth covered 15 ½ ks and very proud of herself. The enjoyment is not in the sore feet but in the heart as many people are so
generous. Thank you to all who supported the cause from Goulburn – Maccas and on the road.

Possum & Dale:
Another soggy start to the day, and the "Troops" take off at 0800 in a light drizzle into Goulburn. A change over at 5km. on the other side
of Goulburn, then a quick walk up the hill to the "Big Merino" (I forgot that it's moved up to the freeway entrance), and morning tea &
coffee at MacDonalds (again). Another brisk walk to Kibby V.C. rest area for lunch and then the "RAIN" sets in. A snappy bus trip to 5km.
out of Collector, and a last walk for the day. We end up at the "Bushranger Hotel" for the night.

Pete & Barb Sellars:
At last we got to walk again - even if the conditions were a little adverse at times.  Still the smiles were back on the faces, the coats,
gloves and beanies were on and there was no stopping us!  What a great feeling!  We left the crew at a quaint little pub in the hills
above Canberra and came down to a SUNNY Canberra - so all looking good for tomorrow.  On the downside, Engines and Craig were
making snide comments about Barb and Cathy"s stride on the first 5km - we were just excited about finally stepping out at last.  Pete
was finally allowed at the front again - albeit escorted by Engines.  Only two sleeps to go, and this great escapade will be over.
However the Children's Hospitals will have greatly benefited from everyone's efforts- both Barb and I have had a ball and will miss it
terribly!  Can't wait to catch up will them all at Subcon.
