The Walk
Day 25
POINT CLARE (TS Hawkesbury) TO PENNANT HILLS (Baden Powell Scout Centre)

Nana Torpedo
Yesterday we walked from Toowoon Bay to Pt Clare TS Hawkesbury which was a good set up and comfortable beds. Ken and Carmel
Hinkley joined us from the bridge in Gosford to Pt Clare and then walked home again. I also had a visit from 90something Uncle Jack
Cutler and cousin Larraine who I hadn’t seen for sometime. Uncle Jack said he was proud of all of us for what we are doing. (See
photo below)
Today we started from TS Hawkesbury where Ken & Carmel came to see us off. At West Gosford we waited for the local newspaper
photographer who didn’t show. After refueling all vehicles we headed down the Freeway to Berowra where we picked up 5 new
walkers including Daughter-in-law Dianne, Michelle, Geoff, Bill and Ian. It was a short walk day and we arrived a bit early for the people
at the Baden Powell Scout Centre but it wasn’t long before we were able to settle in. We have been invited to Hornsby RSL for dinner
courtesy of Geoff Anderson. We said farewell to Paul and Elvis today who were good fun. Elvis has been challenged to ride into
Canberra on his motor bike in his Elvis suit, he hopes to be able to take up the challenge. See you tomorrow from Parra Stadium.

Craig (Feathers) Fothergill
Took a whole day off today and just cruised along checking out the paths and crossings etc. Finally a photo with CANBERRA in it and
some good photos of the new crew mentioned by others. Red Rover finally got a dhobi whilst waiting for the walkers. Check out
Engines’ and his “stirrers” spoon. Finally a photo with me on the other side on one of my favourite ‘weapons’ from my PATROLBOAT
AND WEST HEAD days.

Richard (Slug) Lewin
21Km all up today, walked them all. Thoroughly enjoying the time on the road. Good to see more old faces, Geoff Anderson and others.
Sad to say farewell to “Pit Stop” Paul, thank mate, really enjoyed your company. Good luck with Kate’s car. Love to Di and my family.

Jock
Some new walkers today including Geoff Anderson, who used to be our baby-sitter and finished up a Commander. Good promotion.
Sydney traffic is FAST.

Barry (Engines) and Cathy Davis
A long uplift Gosford to Berowra (police instructions). Some more old faces, Revs O’Reilly and Ian Appleby, it was good to catch up.
The new shoes are doing fine (thank god). Off to the RSL for another free dinner, thanks to Geoff Anderson.

Poss & Dale
A fairly uneventful day, except when called up by “Feathers” to join him for Latte at McDonalds. I had a cappuccino, fish burger (made of
plastic) and buttered banana bread – Yumm
A well run fast trip down the F3 to charge “Goomallingdales” battery. (First time at 110 since the start of the walk). A well earned Latte
at Macca’s then another snappy trip down Pennant Hills Rd to Baden Powell Scout Centre at Pennant Hills.
